Holidays are a truly blessed time of year for ALL members of the family!

And while they bring cheer, they can also make us very busy...allowing for accidental ingestion of things toxic to our pets: e.g.. chocolate, relative's medications dropped on the floor, artificial sweeteners like xylitol in some sugarless candies...

Did you know that registration of your pet's HomeAgain microchip can provide you with lifesaving advice from veterinarians, at no cost, through ASPCA Poison Control Hotline 24/7?

What do Do In a Poison Emergency:

If your pet has a HomeAgain microchip: Call 1-888-466-3242 and press option 2 for emergency services. You will need your pet's microchip number handy AND your pet's registration MUST be current.

If your pet does not have a HomeAgain microchip: You can still call the ASPCA poison control hotline at 1-800-426-4435 but there is a service fee to allay the costs of maintaining this service.

Once you've spoken with one of the veterinarians at ASPCA Poison Control - you will be given the information you need to handle any potential poison situation for your pet.

Most of our clients find that a microchip typically pays for itself with even one accident. Not to be forgotten that microchipping can also help to reunite lost pets with their owners if found and scanned!

If you need to know your microchip number - swing by our hospital and we are happy to scan your pet's microchip for free!

If your pet doesn't have a microchip - we would be happy to help! We exclusively implant HomeAgain microchips - so if you've gotten your microchip at Newport Harbor Animal Hospital - it's a HomeAgain chip. Give us a call today at 949-612-2756
