Very friendly service! My cat and I are new patients, and I was so impressed they were able to take me in on a Saturday!! (no appointment) The Dr and assistant were so good with my cat. They checked her thoroughly and the staff was so nice answering my questions.

Our family had a wonderful experience at NHAH. It was our first time meeting, unfortunately at the end of our lab's long, beautiful life but I know where to take and refer future pets. I have used NHAH for my dogs' care for 15 years! Twice, I tried other groups, thinking they were less expensive. Well, I learned quickly there was a reason why. NHAH has everything to offer that I would hope for: talented, caring, and extremely skilled doctors and staff, open 7 days a week, specialists within the group, and doctors willing and open to refer to outside specialists as necessary. They have treated my dogs throughout their lives with knowledge and compassion. They have referred out as necessary, and continued care once my pups have returned to their care. Dr. Owen has been a constant in my life, and my dogs' lives, for 15 years. She loves my dogs as if they are her own. She is honest, open, encouraging, and realistic. I have had six dogs now in the care of NHAH. They have compassionately helped 3 of our babies to the other side when the time comes. Overall, I find this entire group to be kind, skilled, thoughtful, creative, and honest. The facilities are clean, beautiful, and comforting. I love this place! I just got my little 8 week old goldendoodle and she was having stomach issues. I was SO worried it was parvo because she hasn't had all of her shots yet and I was an absolute wreck. Dr. Sarah Wind was so kind and genuinely cared for Delia (my puppy). Turns out it's just stress and dietary. It was pretty expensive but the doctors and receptionists are so sweet, it is worth it. Delia also goes to day boarding which is only 10 DOLLARS for the whole day! So reasonable. And she seems to love it. If anything changes I will update this review but so far, so good!

My dog, needs medical care and I am not allowed where I am living now to leave him alone. He is a small dog and is a Maltese-Mini Dachshund sometimes called a Moxie. He weighed only 8.6 pounds and when we were at NHAH he weighed 8.9 pounds. I was so happy to see he had gained almost 4 ounces because any gain is positive for me. The price for the service was was very reasonable because it included his examination, medication to take home, testing for parasites, and two vaccines he needed to be able to stay at NHAH.
Checking in and out was very efficient in my opinion. So glad I found NHAH

Because of her, her team, and NHAH, Loki has now been going here for almost a year with every visit being a success. The first few visits we were taking so much of her time and expertise because she was building trust and undoing some serious trauma from prior vets. Fast forward, today his visits are efficient; he RUNS excitedly into the office; he tolerates exams (with a reasonable-ish threshold); and he is CALM in the lobby and in the room (he used to shake, cry, and try to escape every chance before). Almost 2 months ago, I had to put down my sweet orange tabby Tony due to kidney disease. He was still very young but I made sure to give him the best life I could. All of his appointments for blood work were with our favorite Dr. Akashi. She always did her best to offer the best treatments for my Tony and also made sure he was at a comfortable state. Dr. Toor and the entire team have been absolutely amazing over the last year. About a year ago, Chocolate started limping, and we found out she had torn her ACL and needed surgery. The staff took the time to educate me on the procedure, answer all of my questions, and made me feel confident every step of the way. I called around to other veterinary clinics, but my gut told me to trust our primary vet, and I’m so glad I did. They kept me updated throughout her surgery and recovery, and I always felt like Chocolate was receiving the best possible care.

This week, Chocolate was stung by a bee, which caused several skin issues. As an English Bulldog, she needs exceptional veterinary care, and that’s exactly what she receives here. Dr. Toor and the entire staff are compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about their patients. Every visit, they take the time to explain everything and make sure I feel comfortable with the treatment plan.

I’m incredibly grateful to have found a veterinary team I trust with Chocolate’s health the last three years. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr. Toor and this clinic to anyone looking for outstanding care for their pets.

I can not say enough about Newport Harbor and Dr. Ashbran. I work in the industry, and have called here several times for records, etc. The staff has always been wonderful and helpful. I have been searching for a new dvm that was close by and not corporate owned. When I took my kitty to her cardiologist I asked her if she recommended anyone and without hesitation she said NHAH! I took her advice and made an appointment, and I have now found my forever Dr for my fur babies. We recently had to do one of the hardest things a dog owner has to do: put our sweet dog down. He was 17 and he stopped eating and drinking, his body was giving out and he just wasn't there anymore. I really didn't want to put him down and just let him pass naturally but I read it's more humane to let them go and help them pass peacefully. It's so hard to say goodbye to a dog and anyone who has had to do this knows what I'm talking about. This was our first experience having to do this. We have been going to NHAH for almost 20 years. We are partial to seeing Dr. Ashbran, however, we have been more than happy with the care received from Drs. Akashi and Wind over the past year with our golden retriever who was terminally ill. Recently, we had to bring in our 5 month old golden retriever for an accidental sock ingestion. I firmly believe Dr. McLaughlin saved her life. When the surgery didn’t go as expected, Dr. McLaughlin explained everything thoroughly and instructed us to go to BluePearl for emergency care. I was looking for reasonable communication, compassionate care for my animals and reasonably friendly service. Although Newport Harbor is definitely not the least expensive, they check all the other boxes. They work with you, not forcing any one particular course of treatment and treat me and my dogs well. I recommend them to all my friends.

We have been so lucky to find Newport Harbor Animal Hospital after taking our anxious cat to numerous different vet offices and having very unpleasant experiences at other places. It is a very comforting and professional environment. Our cat, Penny, has been seeing Dr. Akashi, the best vet we could ever ask for. I am shocked how they are able to treat our anxious, orange Tabby WITHOUT even needing sedation. We recently had surgery for Penny, with Justin as out Vet Tech. I have been taking my cat to this Vet for the past 3years. I have a very sick pet that needed top notch Doctors to get to the main issues causing internal pain. All of the testing was done in-house except for specialized blood work sent to Texas A&M for analyses. The Dr's have work with us to seek the best resolution for us and our cat. Meds compounded into liquids and ointments for easy administer for our cat. Fast appointment when issues arise 7 days a week. I was recommend NHAH by a vet friend whom I shared my dog's complexities with. Loki would often be so anxious at our former vet that they would rarely ever be able to get services done (once our go-to vet left). I knew I needed to find some place that would be empathetic towards my dog who is often so misunderstood. I am not exaggerating when I say Dr. Clifton has been a LIFE CHANGER. Because of her, her team, and NHAH, Loki has now been going here for almost a year with every visit being a success. The first few visits we were taking so much of her time and expertise because she was building trust and undoing some serious trauma from prior vets. Fast forward, today his visits are efficient; he RUNS excitedly into the office; he tolerates exams (with a reasonable-ish threshold); and he is CALM in the lobby and in the room (he used to shake, cry, and try to escape every chance before). I am forever grateful for Dr. Clifton and her team. This place is so special, and if you're looking for a place with experts who will love and care for your pets as if they're own, you've found your new vet home.

We took our 2 precious dogs for new patient exams, vaccines and 4 hours of daycare. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. We have never left them anywhere before and we were comfortable leaving them there. They were very relaxed and calm when we picked them up. Wonderful staff. Feb 10 - Another great visit to Newport Harbor Animal Hospital with our two precious dogs. Exams, nail trims, ear treatment, flea treatment - all performed with care and love. Dr. Tour and Natalie were fantastic.

Dr. Owens was so great with our dog, Leo. She is a very compassionate and skilled Vet. She realized that Leo was super sensitive to sound when nervous and worked around this in a very caring way when preparing for a kidney biopsy. She explained his condition well. Although his disease was not ultimately curable, we appreciated her skill and caring manner.

NHAH saved our 8yo dog’s life. After dropping our two dogs off for boarding for a 2 week east coast trip Dr Osborne noticed the 8yo dogs stomach was a bit distended. After check up and X-rays, they found a huge mass in her belly. With surgery the only (rather urgent) option, and us on the east coast for 2 more weeks, Dr Owen coordinated getting timing and quotes from nearby specialists, giving us 3 options. She then helped figure out the logistics with my sister to shuttle the dog back and forth from boarding to surgery while we were traveling.

What was so special about this experience was the extra care and understanding the staff had, realizing that we had limited ability to solve this on our own. They stepped up to fill the void with professionalism and compassion, giving us many options to consider. In the end, our dog healed from surgery and is doing great, and the removed mass was benign, giving us (hopefully) many years left of joy. Can’t thank Drs Osborne and Owen enough. They are amazing.

I was referred to NHAH in Dec 2024 by a dear neighbor as I had adopted a 9 year old 21 lb rescue male doodle. Jaxx is blind as the Shelter removed his eyes. The entire staff at NHAH has been wonderful and compassionate from my first visit. The front desk, the back office and techs are always so kind and caring ( their concern is true). Dr. Ashbran is without question the most knowledgable and caring Veterinarian - he truly cares about our four legged babies and takes the time to listen and provide guidance. I've referred several other neighbors and they concur that NHAH provides best in class services while reminiscing of a down home Animal Hospital. You are not a customer # but family.
