We recently had to do one of the hardest things a dog owner has to do: put our sweet dog down. He was 17 and he stopped eating and drinking, his body was giving out and he just wasn't there anymore. I really didn't want to put him down and just let him pass naturally but I read it's more humane to let them go and help them pass peacefully. It's so hard to say goodbye to a dog and anyone who has had to do this knows what I'm talking about. This was our first experience having to do this. Newport Harbor Animal Hospital was incredible throughout the whole process. They were very understanding and compassionate. They even waived the exam fee for us since it was evident our dog was so far gone. Thank you so much for your empathy and helping us through a very sad and dark day in our lives.
