Veterinarian
Growing up in Livermore, California, Dr. Alexandria Clifton knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at a very young age. She got involved with her high school’s ROP program which allowed her to obtain her first job as a kennel tech in a veterinary hospital! From there she moved up to be a technician assistant. She also had the privilege to grow up participating in her local 4H club showing pigs, chickens, and dogs.
She received her undergraduate degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she majored in Animal Science on a Pre-Vet track. She then completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Throughout her experience in veterinary medicine she has always had a strong interest in Integrative/Holistic Medicine which took her to Chi University where she completed their Small Animal Acupuncture Certification. Dr. Clifton joined the Newport Harbor Animal Hospital team in 2024.
When she is not at work, Dr. Clifton loves doing things outdoors with her two Mini American Shepherds, Kodak and Peanut. She also enjoys photography, crochet, and reading. She is so excited to be at NHAH and looks forward to meeting your pets!
Dr. Clifton is CVA Certified (Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist) and a member of CVMA and AAHA
