Born and raised in Congo, Africa, Dr. Farrah Heiz is a Swiss-American citizen who moved to the United States in 1986. She has a B.S. degree in animal science from Cal Poly Pomona, and she received her DVM degree from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Heiz joined Newport Harbor Animal Hospital in the summer of 2008, and is currently working towards becoming a diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specializing in the practice of canine and feline care. She performs abdominal ultrasound and endoscopy procedures, and has special interests in gastroenterology and critical care medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Heiz enjoys cycling and spending time with her husband, their three dogs, Callie, Moose and Zoe, and two cats, Sam and Jasper.
